How To Install twinkle-console on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install twinkle-console on Kali Linux.

What is twinkle-console

twinkle-console is:

Twinkle is a soft-phone for making telephone calls over an IP network using the SIP protocol. You can use it for direct IP phone to IP phone communication or in a network using a SIP proxy to route your calls. Notable features include multiple active identities, call transfer, call rejection, 2 simultaneous calls and 3-way conference calls.

This package contains the console interface. Note that the console interface provides a reduced set of features; in particular, the graphical interface is needed to create the configuration files.

There are three methods to install twinkle-console on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install twinkle-console Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install twinkle-console using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install twinkle-console

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update
