How To Install rsync on Kali Linux

What is rsync
rsync is:
rsync is a fast and versatile file-copying tool which can copy locally and to/from a remote host. It offers many options to control its behavior, and its remote-update protocol can minimize network traffic to make transferring updates between machines fast and efficient.
It is widely used for backups and mirroring and as an improved copy command for everyday use.
This package provides both the rsync command line tool and optional daemon functionality.
There are three methods to install rsync on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rsync Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rsync using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install rsyncInstall rsync Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rsync using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rsyncInstall rsync Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rsync using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install rsyncHow To Uninstall rsync on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the rsync package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rsyncUninstall rsync And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rsync and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rsyncRemove rsync Configurations and Data
To remove rsync configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rsyncRemove rsync configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove rsync configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge rsyncDependencies
