How To Install openttd on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install openttd on Kali Linux.
What is openttd
openttd is:
OpenTTD is a reimplementation of the Microprose game “Transport Tycoon Deluxe” with lots of new features and enhancements.
OpenTTD is playable with the free graphics files from the openttd-opengfx package and optional sound files from the openttd-opensfx package (which is in non-free). Alternatively, OpenTTD can use the graphics files from the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe game (See README.Debian on how to set this up).
There are three methods to install openttd on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install openttd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openttd using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install openttdInstall openttd Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openttd using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install openttdInstall openttd Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openttd using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install openttdHow To Uninstall openttd on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the openttd package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openttdUninstall openttd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openttd and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openttdRemove openttd Configurations and Data
To remove openttd configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openttdRemove openttd configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove openttd configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge openttdDependencies
