How To Install make-doc on Kali Linux

What is make-doc

make-doc is:

This package contains the documentation for GNU Make. The upstream sources for this package are available at the location ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/make/. This package has been stripped down to only contain the documentation; since the documentation is covered under a non-free license and thus has been moved to non-free/doc. Make itself remains in Debian.

There are three methods to install make-doc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install make-doc Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install make-doc using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install make-doc

Install make-doc Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install make-doc using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install make-doc

Install make-doc Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install make-doc using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install make-doc

How To Uninstall make-doc on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the make-doc package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove make-doc

Uninstall make-doc And Its Dependencies

To uninstall make-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove make-doc

Remove make-doc Configurations and Data

To remove make-doc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge make-doc

Remove make-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove make-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge make-doc
