How To Install libteam-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libteam-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libteam-dev
libteam-dev is:
Libteam provides a mechanism to team multiple NICs (ports) at OSI Layer 2 (Data link) into a single virtual NIC. The process is called “channel bonding”, “Ethernet bonding”, “channel teaming”, “link aggregation”, etc. This is already implemented in the Linux kernel by the bonding driver but unlike the bonding driver, libteam (user space) has the following additional features:
- load-balancing for LACP support
- NS/NA (IPV6) link monitoring
- port priorities and stickiness (“primary” option enhancement)
- separate per-port link monitoring setup
Libteam requires Linux kernel 3.3 or higher.
This package provides development headers.
There are three methods to install libteam-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libteam-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libteam-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libteam-devInstall libteam-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libteam-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libteam-devInstall libteam-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libteam-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libteam-devHow To Uninstall libteam-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libteam-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libteam-devUninstall libteam-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libteam-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libteam-devRemove libteam-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libteam-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libteam-devRemove libteam-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libteam-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libteam-devDependencies
