How To Install kubernetes-master on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install kubernetes-master on Kali Linux.

What is kubernetes-master

kubernetes-master is:

Kubernetes is a portable, extensible, open-source platform for managing containerized workloads and services, that facilitates both declarative configuration and automation. It has a large, rapidly growing ecosystem. Kubernetes services, support, and tools are widely available.

Current this package only ships the Kubernetes master binaries kube-apiserver, kube-scheduler and kube-controller-manager. Configuration, including interconnection (via kubeconfig) will has to be created via other means.

There are three methods to install kubernetes-master on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install kubernetes-master Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install kubernetes-master using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install kubernetes-master

Install kubernetes-master Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install kubernetes-master using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install kubernetes-master

Install kubernetes-master Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install kubernetes-master using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install kubernetes-master

How To Uninstall kubernetes-master on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the kubernetes-master package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove kubernetes-master

Uninstall kubernetes-master And Its Dependencies

To uninstall kubernetes-master and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove kubernetes-master

Remove kubernetes-master Configurations and Data

To remove kubernetes-master configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge kubernetes-master

Remove kubernetes-master configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove kubernetes-master configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kubernetes-master
