How To Install kanif on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install kanif on Kali Linux.

What is kanif

kanif is:

Kanif is a tool for high performance computing clusters management and administration. It combines the main functionalities of well-known cluster management tools such as c3, pdsh and dsh, and mimics their syntax. It provides three tools to run the same command on several nodes (“parallel ssh”, using the ‘kash’ command), to broadcast the copy of files or directories to several nodes (‘kaput’ command), and to gather several remote files or directories locally (‘kaget’ command). It relies on TakTuk for efficiency and scalability.

There are three methods to install kanif on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install kanif Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install kanif using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install kanif

Install kanif Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install kanif using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install kanif

Install kanif Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install kanif using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install kanif

How To Uninstall kanif on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the kanif package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove kanif

Uninstall kanif And Its Dependencies

To uninstall kanif and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove kanif

Remove kanif Configurations and Data

To remove kanif configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge kanif

Remove kanif configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove kanif configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kanif
