How To Install hydra on Kali Linux

What is hydra
hydra is:
Hydra is a parallelized login cracker which supports numerous protocols to attack. It is very fast and flexible, and new modules are easy to add.
This tool makes it possible for researchers and security consultants to show how easy it would be to gain unauthorized access to a system remotely.
It supports: Cisco AAA, Cisco auth, Cisco enable, CVS, FTP, HTTP(S)-FORM-GET, HTTP(S)-FORM-POST, HTTP(S)-GET, HTTP(S)-HEAD, HTTP-Proxy, ICQ, IMAP, IRC, LDAP, MS-SQL, MySQL, NNTP, Oracle Listener, Oracle SID, PC-Anywhere, PC-NFS, POP3, PostgreSQL, RDP, Rexec, Rlogin, Rsh, SIP, SMB(NT), SMTP, SMTP Enum, SNMP v1+v2+v3, SOCKS5, SSH (v1 and v2), SSHKEY, Subversion, Teamspeak (TS2), Telnet, VMware-Auth, VNC and XMPP.
There are three methods to install hydra on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hydra Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hydra using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install hydraInstall hydra Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hydra using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install hydraInstall hydra Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hydra using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install hydraHow To Uninstall hydra on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the hydra package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove hydraUninstall hydra And Its Dependencies
To uninstall hydra and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove hydraRemove hydra Configurations and Data
To remove hydra configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge hydraRemove hydra configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove hydra configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge hydraDependencies
